A Boeing 747SP captain, Tajik Air Chief Pilot Ed Rhodes, observed an unidentified object over Kazakhstan (January 27, 1994) executing corkscrews, 90-degree turns, and circles at high G-loads, photographed the object, and reported contrails at 100,000 feet 45 minutes later.
Rhodes' assessment was that the object demonstrated control and intentionality. The photograph, forwarded to the U.S. Embassy, was transmitted directly to SecState, CIA, and DIA without editorial commentary, indicating official channels treated it as credible.
