Project SAUCER was the earliest named U.S. Air Force UAP investigation effort, active from 1946/1947 to January 1948. AARO's February 2024 Historical Record Report identifies it as the first entry in the formal chronology of USG UAP programs, preceding Project Sign.

AARO's Volume I Historical Record Report (February 2024) catalogs Project SAUCER as the opening entry in its Section IV program timeline, which runs from 1946/1947 through AARO's own establishment on July 15, 2022.

What came after Project SAUCER?
