Quick facts

What was SIOANI?
SIOANI (Sistema de Investigacao de Objetos Aereos Nao Identificados) was the Brazilian Air Force's first formal UFO investigation program. Its inaugural bulletin, dated March 1969, explains the program's doctrine, organization, and reporting network operating out of the IV Zona Aerea in Sao Paulo, including the regional CIOANI, ZIOANI, and NIOANI investigation nodes.
What SIOANI-era records are in the corpus?
Three record sets: the inaugural March 1969 SIOANI bulletin, the Brazilian Air Force's official OANI reporting form (Formulario de Relatorio sobre OANI), and the NSISA file aggregating 1969-era press clippings and witness accounts from Rio de Janeiro, Niteroi, Goias, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, and Brasilia, declassified through the Arquivo Nacional.
