A SECRET//NOFORN CIA intelligence information report dated 3 July 2008 describing a disc-shaped object observed over Harare International Airport, Zimbabwe, on 2 July 2008.
The report, distributed to the White House Situation Room, DNI, DIA, NSA, FBI and dozens of other commands, describes an unidentified object hovering at high altitude over Harare International Airport on the afternoon of 2 July 2008, observed possibly by both radar and optical means. Observers described the object as disc-like with a hollow center and rotating lights on its underside, with 'beams' emanating from it. Individuals aware of the incident debated whether it was an advanced foreign reconnaissance device or an unidentified flying object of extraterrestrial origins. The object shifted the color of its lights, ascended rapidly out of visual range, and the incident contributed to a decision to place Zimbabwe on high alert.
