CEFAA's two-year investigation concluded unanimously: cause unknown. CEFAA Director Gen. Ricardo Bermúdez stated: 'We do not know what it was, but we do know what it was not.' The committee ruled out military and civilian aircraft, weather balloons, drones, and atmospheric phenomena. Nuclear chemist Mario Avila and aeronautical engineers participated in the analysis. The footage was declassified and released publicly in January 2017, making it one of the most scrutinized military UAP videos in South American history.
