On November 1, 1954, Rosa Lotti Dainelli, a farmer near Cennina in the province of Arezzo, Italy, reported encountering a metallic double-cone object in a field from which two child-sized humanoids emerged, spoke in an unrecognized language, took flowers and a stocking from her, and then departed. A deep hole was found at the site.

The case was investigated by the Prato UFO Study Group, which uncovered a corroborating account from two boys tending pigs who claimed to have witnessed the encounter from a distance. The case was documented by Jacques Vallée as entry No. 24 in his catalogue of landing cases and occurred within the same wave as the Florence stadium sighting four days earlier.
