confirmed2020· Pentagon, Arlington, VA
On April 27, 2020, the Department of Defense officially released three declassified Navy infrared videos, FLIR (Tic Tac, 2004), Gimbal (January 2015), and GoFast (2015), stating that the aerial phenomena shown remain unidentified and that release was authorized to correct public misconceptions about the footage's authenticity.
The DoD statement said the release 'does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions.' The videos had previously circulated publicly after unauthorized releases in 2007 and 2017; the official release represented the first formal Pentagon acknowledgment that the footage was genuine.
