On January 8, 2008, hundreds of witnesses near Stephenville, Texas, observed a large silent object traveling at high speed toward the Crawford Ranch; MUFON obtained FAA radar data via FOIA showing an unidentified target moving at up to 532 mph with no transponder signal, performing maneuvers inconsistent with any known conventional aircraft.

MUFON researchers conducted over 200 witness interviews, including police officers, pilots, and city officials. The radar track showed the object approaching to within approximately 10 miles of President Bush's Western White House before the data ended. The Air Force initially denied any aircraft were in the area, then acknowledged ten F-16s were on a training mission, without providing radar tracks of their own.
