The footage runs 15 minutes and came from the rear-facing camera of a commercially available cellular device, submitted to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) in October 2023; the reporting officer described the phenomenon as "silent" and as featuring "red, blue, and green flashing lights." For the full 00:00 to 15:00, the camera stays on an apparent light source, keeping it generally centered in the frame. AARO blurred the bottom half of the video to protect the privacy or other protected interest of a U.S. person or commercial entity, and its comment cautions that autofocus and other automated image processing on this type of phone may distort the apparent shape and motion of distant subjects, particularly at high magnification. The release offers no identification; the case is carried as unresolved.
